Principal Function of the Position:

This position is responsible for assisting in the oversight of all laser cutting processes for Unverferth facilities. This will include ensuring maximum run time for lasers at all company facilities. Included in those responsibilities are a strong ability to fault diagnose (troubleshoot) and provide solutions to all laser equipment failures, breakdowns, etc... This person will have strong knowledge and competency of all laser cutting equipment with the ability to handle different technologies related to lasers. This person must have continuous improvement mindset with ability to recommend process and technical improvements. This person will have experience in the technical field of service with a passion to remain knowledgeable of industry developments/changes.

This position will require a person with excellent communication skills with the ability to work positively with all staff at Unverferth and be a positive representative of Unverferth when dealing with suppliers and vendors. This position is also expected to develop and maintain accurate standard times for all processes. This position will also ensure the highest possible quality.

This position will require that an individual be capable of effectively communicating with managers, peers, and co-workers at all levels within the organization and ensuring that products are designed, tested and manufactured to optimum performance standards with minimal product development time. Those areas and/or disciplines would include but-not-be-limited-to, design engineering, tooling, prototyping, manufacturing (production), quality assurance, planning and scheduling, transportation, procurement, inventory management, product support and sales.  This person must be able to encourage and promote lean concepts and provide the means for employees at all levels within the operation to give input, share ideas, raise questions, and help make inform business decisions for continually improving programs, procedures and systems involved in overall manufacturing process.

 

Primary Responsibilities of this Position:

  1. Ability to seek and negotiate with, communicate and troubleshoot with Equipment Suppliers.
  2. Monitoring and troubleshooting all company lasers.
  3. Assist in all laser process efficiency.
  4. Ability to travel to other Unverferth locations up to 30 weeks per year.

 

Education Requirements:

This position requires a Technical school degree (or equivalent); college or bachelor degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field would be preferred and a minimum of 3 years experience in technical field of service.
